As part of our Grassroots Humanist Events pilot project and our Humanist Action campaign, we encourage our members to organize and take part in charitable events under the banner of Humanism.

On the evening of October 14, several members of the BC Humanists will participate in the annual Light the Night Walk, organized by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Our participation is one of our many community actions that express our Humanist values locally and nationally.

Each participant is raising funds for research into leukemia, lymphoma and other blood related cancers. Progress in treatment, remission and survival within this category of cancers has been excellent - but we need to ensure we are continuing to support the excellent science being done in this field.
