Dr Marty Shoemaker (Dr Shoe) joined the Chaplain Council of the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Multi-Faith Centre in 2013 as one of two Humanist Chaplains (the other is Joann Robertson). Marty is a semi-retired psychologist of 40 years which means he is working on his encore career of engaging with students interested in finding the worldview that makes sense to them for community, causality, and commitment. He is a long-time member of hte BC Humanist Association and a former member of the Social Science faculty at Douglas College for many years as an instructor in Organizational Behaviour and Leadership Best Practices.
Outside of these activities he is a very proud grandfather, fly fisherman, football spectator, and aging golfer.
You contact him by email at [email protected]. Marty is especially interested in ways to increase student access to the Multi-Faith Centre. Find out more about Kwantlen's Multi-Faith Centre.
