Vancouver Sunday Meeting: Dr Alan Low - Pharmaceuticals, alternative medicine and aging

Dr Alan Low works with patients to ensure the medicines they take actually work for them. For patients wanting to explore alternative therapies, this can include being given either a placebo or the therapy without knowing which they receive, with the option being switched after a few weeks.

Dr. Alan Low BSc.(Pharm.), Pharm. D., RPh, ACPR, FCSHP, CCD

Dr. Alan Low is a Clinical Associate Professor with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC, Primary Care Pharmacist at BioPro Biologics Pharmacy and Manager, Reimbursement and Medical Affairs with Servier Canada;. Dr. Low is a registered pharmacist who completed his pharmacy degree at UBC, hospital pharmacy residency at St. Paul’s Hospital and postgraduate Doctor of Pharmacy training at UBC. He is a board advisor with the GI Society and a member of the Medical Board of HealthChoicesFirst.com. He is a strong supporter of patient-centred care and focuses on enabling people to better self-manage their health. He has written a textbook in pharmacy as well as a self-management book titled The Osteoporosis Book: Bone Health, now in its 4th Edition.

All are welcome to attend. Join us at 10 am for BYO coffee, tea, and socializing. At 10:30 am we start our presentation and discuss topics of interest to our members.

The BC Humanist Association was formed in 1984 and we have a regular attendance of over 30 people at our Sunday meetings.
