Recently, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has been under an onslaught of scurrilous attacks by a vicious anti-choice group with ties to violent extremists. The group is now under investigation for breaking multiple laws to carry out its undercover “investigation,” in which it allegedly misrepresented itself to the IRS and illegally recorded people without their consent, and then deceptively spliced their conversations to create the impression they were breaking laws governing fetal tissue donation. As atheist vlogger Rebecca Watson has ably explained: “Planned Parenthood is Not Selling Baby Parts, You Fucking Idiots.” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUT1u8ePmVY). Local feminist activist Joyce Arthur will give an overview of what happened, what the actual evidence shows, and why the truth is getting lost because of the anti-choice vendetta against PPFA. As a result, basic healthcare for millions of poor women is now in jeopardy, along with scientific research using fetal tissue, which has been benefitting us all and saving lives for decades.
