In its response to this year's pre-budget consultation, the BC Humanist Association is calling on the federal government to use Budget 2022 to end religious privileges in the tax code.
Specifically, the Association is asking the government to:
- Repeal the clergy residence deduction
- Remove 'advancement of religion' as a charitable purpose
- Restrict childcare funding to secular providers
The full details are available in the BCHA's brief.
The BCHA is asking supporters to echo these calls in their own submissions to the Finance Committee. All briefs are due by Friday, August 6, 2021 at 8:59 pm PDT.
