The Census is a snapshot of Canada. But for too long, that picture has been blurry.
When the 2026 Census arrives, the data collected will influence the public conversation for the next five years. Governments use this data to decide how to spend your tax dollars, where to build schools and who to consult on policy issues.
Maybe you've ticked a religious box out of habit, family tradition or because you were christened as a child. This creates a "ghost" religious population. When non-religious people are undercounted, religious groups gain disproportionate influence over our laws, our healthcare and our education system.
Make your voice count. Pledge to be honest on the Census.
I believe that public policy should be based on the reality of who we are today.
Because I do not practice or believe in a religion, I pledge to tick 'No Religion' on the 2026 Census to ensure a fairer, more secular Canada for everyone.
