The mono-theists often claim that without God ethics is impossible, because ethics then would not have a basis or source and ethical values would have no objective standards. However, is ethics really impossible without God? Does life have meaning or purpose without a supernatural divine master? In this talk Puqun will present answers to these two questions from the perspective of the Confucian teachings: a humanistic ethics is possible, and a humanistic life is meaningful.
