The Vancouver Institute has been hosting free lectures since 1916 in Vancouver. A couple of the upcoming lectures will likely be of interest to Humanists in Metro Vancouver.
Our Vancouver branch has been meeting since 1984 and currently meets every Sunday at the Oakridge Seniors Centre at 10am. We also hold a monthly book club on the first Tuesday of the Month and a Speech Masters series to promote public speaking skills on the Second and Fourth Mondays.

At our Sunday, January 27th meeting, Bob Haxton gave a presentation on the importance of the Bible in the evolution of mankind: from metaphor to mirror neurons, the literary and physiological underpinnings of empathy, the glue of socialization.
