Thanks to so many BC Humanist Association members and supporters, we donated well over a hundred items of warm clothing for people in need.

 This included:

• 19 coats,
• 73 jackets/hoodies/sweaters,
• 22 scarves,
• 10 hats and
• several pair of gloves, socks and underwear

I dropped our donations off to First United Shelter and the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre on Saturday.

I wish I had taken a photo of the woman I handed a pair of boots to. Many of the items were new and for some of the shelter users this will be the first fresh bit of clothing they have seen in some time.

Your Humanist values in action are bringing warmth to vulnerable people in need today.
